The project "The Nothing Show" started with the idea to fake generate a topic for an open call group exhibition. For this occasion we were looking for a person to be the actor of a livestream Topic Draw, including a short Video featering a Fake Rapper beeing interviewed by our main guest. After the topic was found, we launched an Open Call with the Theme "Nothing" looking for potencial participants for an exhibition called "The Nothing Show". For some reason the decision was made to design the exhibition not as a classic presentation, but as an unpackaging video
format, taking place on the deck of a floating island on a river. As the whole concept was strongly driven by a DADA attitude, random decisions were warmly welcomed. For that reason we choose to display the submission on a floating boat island. The energy to do that was somehow coming from making a joke about the common made up Holy Spirit around work presentations or the exclusivity of art spaces. This fleeting exhibition existed only for a short time, was fully documented and now remains as a video shaped Exhibition, titled „The Nothing Show“.
Through the wish to bring all these works back together and display them within a space, we decided to give the project a last and final leap titled "The Nothing Show FINAL". Beeing overwhelmed by the high amount of works we made the decision to display most of them on a big pile surrounded by their packaging material, refering back to the boat and the unpackaging work presenation video.
The curatorial decision to present them like relics or traces of an event that has already past, felt like the only Logical Solution and puts the attention back to the video. Which is the main „Show“.
The Nothing Show is one big project, splitted in three parts.
